This rule detects activity associated with the exploitation of PaperCut vulnerabilities. It looks for connections to known malicious IP addresses, the presence of specific credential harvesting tools, reconnaissance commands (whoami, tasklist) executed by the PaperCut application (pc-app.exe), suspicious PowerShell downloads of AnyDesk, and unauthorized access to PaperCut configuration files or log files containing known exploit strings.
Detects credential dumping attempts against the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) process. The rule identifies processes attempting to access LSASS memory using specific access masks often associated with credential extraction, or the presence of the Mimikatz 'sekurlsa::logonpasswords' command in the process command line.
Detects a process initiating a memory dump of lsass.exe (using --dump arguments) followed within 15 minutes by the creation of a hexadecimal-named .tmp file in the Windows\Temp directory. This behavioral pattern is characteristic of credential dumping using reflected cloning or similar techniques, followed by the staging of obfuscated or encrypted minidump data for exfiltration.
Detects the use of rundll32.exe to execute comsvcs.dll's MiniDump functionality against the LSASS process, a common technique for dumping credentials. The rule includes behavioral correlation by identifying the same user account executing this pattern on multiple devices within a one-hour window.

This rule monitors for the execution or presence of files matching a specific set of known malicious MD5 hashes within the environment. It leverages DeviceFileEvents and DeviceProcessEvents logs to identify if these specific files are being accessed or executed on managed endpoints.
Detects techniques associated with LSASS process credential dumping, including direct handle access to the LSASS process with specific access masks (common in tools like Mimikatz), the use of rundll32.exe to invoke comsvcs.dll for memory dumping, and the creation of LSASS dump files on disk.
Detects batch scripts that execute renamed Mimikatz-style binaries (e.g., g.com, hs.com) for credential dumping purposes. The rule looks for the combination of command-line arguments to redirect output to text files, the subsequent deletion of the renamed binaries and associated artifacts (mimidrv.sys, temp files), and the execution of 'gpupdate /force', which is a common technique used to trigger or finalize credential dumping operations.

Detects a sequence of suspicious activities associated with credential dumping and inhibiting system recovery. The rule tracks when a user account executes multiple commands related to volume shadow copies (vssadmin, rmdir, mklink) or attempts to copy sensitive registry files (SAM, SYSTEM, SECURITY) within a 15-minute window on the same device.

Detects the execution of known credential harvesting tools such as Mimikatz, LaZagne, and pypykatz, or the use of their specific command-line arguments. The rule includes exclusions for common security software processes and authorized testing paths.

This rule monitors for suspicious credential-related activity targeting ONVIF interfaces on network devices (such as IP cameras). It detects a pattern where a successful 'global.login' RPC authentication is quickly followed (within 300 seconds) by commands or RPC methods related to credential dumping or user enumeration (e.g., OnvifUser, GetUsers). This sequence is indicative of an adversary using legitimate access to gain unauthorized information from a device.
