Detects the execution of common discovery commands like 'whoami' combined with system information gathering commands (tasklist, ver, uname) when initiated by an application named 'pc-app.exe'. This pattern is frequently observed during the reconnaissance phase of an attack.

Detects the execution of known Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) agent installers or binaries via PowerShell. This activity may indicate an attempt to establish unauthorized remote access to a system, a common technique used by threat actors to maintain persistence or conduct post-compromise activities.

Detects instances where Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) launches common script interpreters like PowerShell or mshta, often indicative of a 'ClickFix' social engineering attack where a user is coerced into pasting malicious commands into the Windows Run dialog.

Detects the execution of base64 encoded PowerShell commands used by CRPx0 to stage a DLL payload, specifically saving it as 'WindowsUpdate.log' followed by the execution of that payload using rundll32.exe.

Detects the silent installation of remote monitoring and management (RMM) software using 'msiexec.exe' initiated by scripting engines (powershell.exe, wscript.exe, or cscript.exe). The rule targets installations occurring in user-writable directories, such as Temp or Downloads, which are common staging locations for malicious droppers, while excluding known legitimate software deployment paths.

This rule detects the creation of a scheduled task via schtasks.exe that uses a name similar to 'Google Chrome Update' but is initiated by a process other than the legitimate Google Update executable or from an unexpected folder location. This behavior is commonly used by adversaries to establish persistence while masquerading as legitimate software update mechanisms.

This rule detects a correlation between host-level reconnaissance activity using WMI (via PowerShell or WMIC) to query system information, followed by network exfiltration to a known C2 IP address over a specific URI within a 10-minute window.

Detects the Kimsuky APT-C-55 'Stella_Gary' attack chain, where PowerShell is used to download a JavaScript verification script from an external C2 (InfinityFree), followed by the execution of that script via cscript.exe in temporary directories. This behavior is used to bypass anti-bot mechanisms and retrieve secondary payloads from hardcoded C2 infrastructure.

Detects instances where the VLC Media Player process (vlc.exe) acts as the parent to common LOLBAS (Living Off the Land Binary and Script) executables such as cmd.exe, powershell.exe, and others. This pattern is often indicative of exploitation attempts or malicious activity where a compromised or trojanized application triggers secondary payloads.

Detects potential exploitation of a CrowdStrike Falcon remediation process vulnerability ('FalconFlank'). The rule identifies either direct execution of the PoC binary or the suspicious combination of a CrowdStrike remediation process loading an unsigned or untrusted DLL from a user-writable path followed by the same process spawning a command shell in the SYSTEM context within 15 minutes.

Detects PowerShell or PowerShell ISE spawned directly from Windows Explorer (explorer.exe, covering both Start-menu launches and the Run dialog abused by ClickFix) whose command line carries a genuine obfuscation/evasion signal - true -EncodedCommand/-e usage, a hidden/minimized window flag, or a remote download cradle (IEX, Invoke-WebRequest, DownloadString, certutil, mshta, etc.) - while excluding invocations that point at an on-disk script file under a standard install path, since ClickFix payloads are inline one-liners rather than references to a local .ps1. Bare -NoProfile/-NoLogo flags no longer trigger alone, since they are common in legitimate automation.

Detects the use of .NET reflection assembly loading techniques (e.g., Assembly.Load, [Reflection.Assembly]::Load) within the command line arguments of known LOLBAS (Living Off the Land Binary and Script) processes. This behavior is frequently associated with fileless malware execution or the loading of malicious assemblies directly into the memory space of trusted Windows binaries.

Detects the execution of a scheduled task named 'MicrosoftEdgeUpdateTaskUserS-1-5-24' which triggers conhost.exe with the --headless argument or PowerShell with an EncodedCommand. This behavior is indicative of a malicious persistence mechanism masquerading as a legitimate Edge update task, specifically associated with the retrieval of payloads from the malicious domain 'indiatodays.org'.
