Detects Remote Procedure Call (RPC) authentication coercion attempts where a machine is forced to authenticate to an external IP address. Attackers use this technique to capture credentials by tricking a server into connecting to a listener they control. This rule identifies known vulnerable RPC interfaces and functions (including rare ones like MS-EVEN/ElfrOpenBELW) being used with a UNC path parameter that points to a public IP address.

Detects access to Chrome profile data and Login Data database associated with credential theft activities linked to FlexibleFerret malware on macOS.
Detects attempts to collect data stored in the clipboard from users with the usage of xclip tool.
Xclip has to be installed.
Highly recommended using rule on servers, due to high usage of clipboard utilities on user workstations.

Data Compressed
Sigma
An adversary may compress data (e.g., sensitive documents) that is collected prior to exfiltration in order to make it portable and minimize the amount of data sent over the network.
Detects execution of MediaPatcher.app decoy application used for credential harvesting.
Detects attempts to use system dialog prompts to capture user credentials

Detects adversary creating screen capture of a desktop with Import Tool.
Highly recommended using rule on servers, due to high usage of screenshot utilities on user workstations.

Detects adversary creating screen capture of a full with xwd. Highly recommended using rule on servers, due high usage of screenshot utilities on user workstations
Audio Capture
Sigma
Detects attempts to record audio using the arecord and ecasound utilities.
Detects activity associated with the Hannibal Stealer, a .NET info-stealer known for targeting cryptocurrency wallets, VPN configurations, and browser data.
Detects the collection and staging of sensitive user data, such as credentials from keychains, browser profiles, and cryptocurrency wallets, by compressing them into an archive. This behavior is a key component of the DigitStealer infostealer's data theft process.
Detects modifications to DNS records in Active Directory where the Distinguished Name (DN) contains a base64-encoded blob
matching the pattern "1UWhRCAAAAA...BAAAA". This pattern corresponds to a marshaled CREDENTIAL_TARGET_INFORMATION structure,
commonly used in Kerberos coercion attacks. Adversaries may exploit this to coerce victim systems into authenticating to
attacker-controlled hosts by spoofing SPNs via DNS. It is one of the strong indicators of a Kerberos coercion attack,.
where adversaries manipulate DNS records to spoof Service Principal Names (SPNs) and redirect authentication requests like CVE-2025-33073.
Please investigate the user account that made the changes, as it is likely a low-privileged account that has been compromised.

Detects FileFix campaigns that use clipboard manipulation functions in web pages to deliver malicious PowerShell commands. These campaigns often trick users into copying and executing payloads, sometimes involving steganography with image files.
Detects phishing emails with malicious HTML attachments designed to harvest credentials and exfiltrate them via the Telegram Bot API. The detection looks for specific attachment filenames (e.g., RFQ, INQUIRY) or content patterns indicative of this threat.
This rule detects inbound HTTP requests containing the User-Agent string 'Salesforce-Multi-Org-Fetcher/1.0'. This specific User-Agent has been associated with data theft from Salesforce instances, as detailed in a Google Cloud blog post. The detection aims to identify potential malicious activity targeting web server applications, specifically Salesforce environments, where an attacker might be attempting to exfiltrate data.
Detects the execution of clip.exe in order to copy data to the clipboard. Adversaries may collect data stored in the clipboard from users copying information within or between applications.

Detects usage of the windows RPC library Encrypting File System Remote Protocol (MS-EFSRPC). Variations of this RPC are used within the attack refereed to as PetitPotam.
The usage of this RPC function should be rare if ever used at all.
Thus usage of this function is uncommon enough that any usage of this RPC function should warrant further investigation to determine if it is legitimate.
View surrounding logs (within a few minutes before and after) from the Source IP to. Logs from from the Source IP would include dce_rpc, smb_mapping, smb_files, rdp, ntlm, kerberos, etc..'
