This rule detects network connections initiated by common Windows script interpreters (PowerShell, WScript, CScript, MSHTA) to known public paste or text sharing services. Adversaries often use these sites to host malicious payloads, C2 configurations, or to exfiltrate data, bypassing traditional network blocks by using reputable services. The rule excludes processes signed by Microsoft to reduce noise.
Detects outbound network connections from internal hosts to domains associated with the Polymarket Trap / Miasma infostealer campaign, including dedicated servers (stitch-production.org, log-taker.store) and vercel.app serverless endpoints used for credential exfiltration.
This rule detects a high volume of network connections (10 or more within an hour) from a single process to remote URLs containing 'artifact' or 'maven' on standard HTTP (port 80) or HTTPS (port 443) ports. This activity could indicate legitimate software development or build processes, but also potentially malicious activities such as supply chain compromise, data staging, or exfiltration of development-related artifacts.
Detects signs of a session hijacking attack using the OAuth device code grant flow, specifically identifying the initial device code authorization followed by suspicious post-authentication activity like mass data access via Microsoft Graph API or the creation of mailbox forwarding rules.
Detects the WinSCP utility initiating an outbound network connection to port 22 (SFTP/SCP). This behavior is often associated with post-compromise activity where adversaries use legitimate file transfer tools to exfiltrate data to attacker-controlled infrastructure.
Hunting rule for tar archive creation of user home trees, common staging before scp/rsync exfiltration over SSH. Prioritize /tmp archives and remote copy in the same session.
Hunting rule for tar archive creation of user home trees, common staging before scp/rsync exfiltration over SSH. Prioritize /tmp archives and remote copy in the same session.
Detects execution of WinSCP.exe followed by network connections to standard SFTP (port 22) or SCP (port 115) ports. This rule aggregates command-line activity and network connection data to identify potential file transfer or exfiltration operations initiated by the WinSCP utility.
Detects suspicious network connections or process activity targeting Discord webhooks or API endpoints, potentially indicating data exfiltration, command and control, or token validation by malicious actors. The rule specifically looks for non-Discord processes making these connections or using suspicious user agents.
Detects plaintext HTTP (no TLS) requests to known VPN Go campaign hosts, covering both the clipboard exfiltration endpoint and the /locations proxy-location endpoint. Useful where proxy logs carry the Host header.
This rule detects potential data exfiltration attempts by monitoring for network connections to URLs containing suspicious substrings (bit, onion, .cc, .su) over common web and DNS ports (53, 80, 443, 8080). It flags high-frequency unique connection attempts from a single device, which may indicate command-and-control (C2) traffic or data exfiltration over covert channels.
This rule detects network events where a device attempts to access the Kubernetes API '/api/v1/namespaces/*/secrets' endpoint. This activity could indicate an attempt to enumerate or exfiltrate sensitive information (secrets) stored within Kubernetes, potentially by an attacker who has gained initial access to a pod or compromised a service account.
Detects a potential exploitation attempt of CVE-2026-42824, involving a parameter-to-prompt injection in M365 Copilot to extract sensitive data identifiers, followed by an exfiltration attempt via a Bing Search-by-Image SSRF request.
Detects potential financial data exfiltration by monitoring for bulk downloads of files with financial keywords from SaaS/Office365 platforms, and identifies unauthorized processes attempting to access sensitive financial application data files (.qbw, .qbb, etc.) on local systems.
This rule detects activity associated with the malicious 'Search for perplexity ai' browser extension (ID: flkebkiofojicogddingbdmcmkpbplcd). It specifically identifies DNS queries and network connections to the malicious domain 'perplexity-ai.online' initiated by common web browser processes, as well as file system evidence of the extension's presence.
This rule detects outbound network connections to a specific typosquatted domain 'perplexity-ai.online'. This domain is associated with a malicious browser extension designed to intercept and exfiltrate search queries before forwarding them to legitimate search providers.
Detects anomalous activity associated with information stealing malware, including unauthorized access to browser credential files (Login Data, Cookies), remote thread injection into browser processes, outbound connections to the Telegram API by non-browser processes, and rapid bulk access to multiple sensitive credential or crypto wallet files.
Detects network connections to known IP addresses associated with FortiBleed activity, including C2, pentest labs, credential validation, and sniffer nodes. This rule helps identify potential compromise or reconnaissance related to the FortiBleed vulnerability.
This rule detects potential web shell activity on Windows IIS servers by monitoring for suspicious process creation and file write events originating from the w3wp.exe worker process. Specifically, it flags when w3wp.exe spawns command shells (cmd, powershell), database management utilities (sqlcmd, osql), or network discovery/transfer tools (curl, wget, certutil, bitsadmin). It also detects the creation or modification of common web shell file extensions (.aspx, .ashx, .asmx) within web root directories.
Detects exfiltration of password store database files
Detects network communication associated with DcRAT, specifically identifying DNS lookups for the known C2 domain kkxqbh.top or network connections to port 2671 originating from suspicious or specific host processes.
