Detects the SearchLeak (CVE-2026-42824) attack chain targeting M365 Copilot. The rule monitors for a three-stage sequence within 1 minute: (1) A user accessing a crafted Enterprise Search URL with an injected prompt in the query string; (2) Evidence of bulk data access (MailItemsAccessed or FileAccessed, 5+ events); and (3) An outbound HTTP request to a Bing image search endpoint containing exfiltrated data encoded within a long (>500 chars) 'imgurl' parameter, indicating a potential SSRF/CSP bypass exfiltration path.
This rule detects high-volume data exfiltration attempts over common HTTPS ports (443 or 8443). It identifies network connections where more than 1MB of data is sent in a single connection, then aggregates these connections over one-hour intervals per device and remote IP. Finally, it flags any device that has sent a total of 50MB or more within that hour to a specific remote IP, indicating potential data exfiltration to a command and control server.
This rule detects potential exfiltration attempts from a GCP Cloud Run container by monitoring for outbound network connections triggered by processes reading sensitive local files. The files being monitored include environment variable configurations (/proc/self/environ) and application source code, which may contain credentials or service account tokens.
Detects suspicious child processes spawned by AI-powered IDE assistants (e.g., Amazon Q, Claude Code, Cursor) that perform AWS credential inspection combined with network exfiltration commands. This activity is indicative of exploitation of IDE extension vulnerabilities (e.g., CVE-2026-12957) where malicious configuration files force the IDE to spawn shell processes to steal and transmit cloud environment credentials.
This rule detects when a single process account initiates a high volume (10 or more) of file move operations to folders associated with cloud storage services (e.g., 'cloud', 'dropbox', 'drive') within a one-hour window. This behavior could indicate data exfiltration or staging for exfiltration.
This rule detects processes making three or more successful outbound network connections within an hour to known code or text sharing sites like Pastebin, GitHub, or Gist. This activity can be indicative of data exfiltration, command and control (C2) communication, or staging of malicious code.
This rule detects suspicious file export activity by monitoring for the creation of files with names containing keywords like 'export', 'dump', or 'extract'. It triggers an alert if five or more such files are created by the same account within a one-hour window, indicating potential data exfiltration or staging.
Detects when a single user account creates 5 or more files within an hour that contain keywords like 'confidential', 'secret', or 'restricted' in their filenames. This behavior could indicate an attempt to stage sensitive data for exfiltration or unauthorized access to sensitive information.
This rule identifies accounts that create or modify 10 or more files, each larger than 200MB, within a one-hour period. This behavior can be indicative of data exfiltration, staging of large files, or other suspicious bulk file operations.
Detects network activity initiated by the WinSCP utility, or DNS queries and HTTP requests directed toward easyupload.io, a common file-sharing site. This behavior may indicate an adversary staging or exfiltrating data to an external, potentially unauthorized location.
This rule detects anomalous high-volume file download activities from Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive for Business, which may indicate data exfiltration. The rule aggregates download events by user and IP address over 10-minute intervals and triggers when the download count exceeds 200, excluding known service/backup accounts.
Detects automated enumeration patterns via the Microsoft Graph API, specifically targeting bulk directory pulls (requests with $top=999) and keyword-based searches for sensitive organizational data (payroll, HR, finance). This rule aggregates activity by user session to identify suspicious volumes and diversity of requests.
This rule detects network connections to specific IP addresses and ports (1259, 1269) via UDP, or the presence of a file with a specific SHA256 hash. This combination could indicate command and control (C2) communication or data exfiltration using a custom UDP protocol.
This query detects multiple TTPs associated with the Storm-2561 campaign that uses SEO poisoning to distribute fake VPN clients for credential theft. It looks for known file hashes, a specific code-signing certificate, malicious DLL side-loading and C2 communication patterns.
This rule detects indicators of exploitation for CVE-2026-20245 in Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Manager. It monitors for the upload of malicious tenant configuration files, the creation of unauthorized 'troot' administrative accounts, subsequent lateral movement via 'su', modifications to critical system authentication files like /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow, and post-exploitation configuration exfiltration via REST API endpoints.
Detects high-volume, suspicious enumeration of HR and Payroll related information via Microsoft Graph API. The rule identifies anomalous behavior such as rapid bulk pagination, usage of suspicious user agents, and specific targeting of sensitive fields (e.g., department, job title) or keywords commonly associated with HR and financial data, likely indicating the use of a stolen OAuth token.
Detects anomalous activities targeting SaaS CRM applications (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot), including high-volume bulk exports, off-hours access, mass API queries for sensitive objects, and suspicious OAuth token grants.
Detects outbound HTTP POST requests to dynv6 dynamic DNS providers containing specific multipart form data patterns, including filenames like 'Info.txt', indicative of data exfiltration by the Kimsuky threat group using custom C2 staging scripts.
This rule detects the presence of KVM-over-IP devices and spoofed USB peripherals, which are commonly associated with illicit remote access, particularly by DPRK IT workers.
Detects browser processes performing DNS resolution for Bing search endpoints immediately following access to M365 Copilot services within the same process storyline. This pattern is indicative of a SearchLeak exploitation chain where an adversary leverages M365 Copilot search to perform SSRF, using Bing as a proxy for data exfiltration.
This rule detects indicators of activity associated with a Firefox smart_window PoC, specifically designed to exfiltrate private browsing URLs. It monitors for suspicious network connections from the Firefox process to port 8765, the creation of PoC-related scripts, and the execution of associated Node.js processes or command lines.
