Detects unusually large outbound network data transfers (over 1TB) from a single process account within an hour. This could indicate data exfiltration, unauthorized bulk data synchronization, or other malicious activity where large volumes of data are being moved out of the environment.
This rule detects unusually large network uploads from devices. It identifies successful network connections where individual transfers exceed 100MB and aggregates these transfers by account name and hour. The rule then flags any account that has uploaded a total of 1TB or more within a single hour. This pattern could indicate data exfiltration, unauthorized data synchronization, or other malicious activities involving significant data transfer volumes.
Correlates a successful Fortinet SSL VPN session with nltest, net, Get-AD*, AdFind, ldapsearch, WinRS, or WMIC discovery commands for the same account within forty-five minutes. This behavior can indicate an attacker establishing initial access via VPN and then performing internal reconnaissance.
This rule detects potential exposure of API keys, tokens, or secrets within FTP directory listings. It specifically looks for network events on remote port 21 (FTP) where the 'RemoteUrl' contains keywords like 'api_key', 'apikey', 'token', 'secret', or 'key=' during a network signature inspection.

This rule detects network connections made over FTP (port 21) where the remote URL contains keywords often associated with legacy or specific network services like 'NetWare', 'NFS', or 'Novell', combined with the presence of multiple spaces or specific 'whitespace' keywords. This combination could indicate unusual or potentially malicious activity, such as attempts to interact with outdated systems or obfuscate URLs.
This rule detects network connections made over FTP (port 21) where the remote URL contains keywords often associated with legacy or specific network services like 'NetWare', 'NFS', or 'Novell', combined with the presence of multiple spaces or specific whitespace indicators. This combination could indicate an attempt to interact with or exploit older network protocols or systems, potentially for reconnaissance or data exfiltration.
Identifies downstream ClickFix where users paste and execute PowerShell or CMD commands via the Explorer Run menu, specifically looking for commands that include Invoke-WebRequest, IEX, or mshta, and are associated with network connections to 'wigetticks.com' or 'wizzleticks.com'.
Detects high-rate DNS queries used for network topology and configuration discovery
This rule detects a high number of distinct URLs and total network connections originating from a single remote IP address within a one-minute time window. This behavior can be indicative of various malicious activities such as data exfiltration, command and control (C2) communication, or network scanning. The threshold for distinct URLs is set to greater than 100 and total connections greater than 500.
This rule detects unusual network connection patterns characterized by a high volume of connections to a remote IP address within a 5-minute window, combined with anomalous connection durations. Specifically, it flags scenarios where there are more than 1000 connections and either the 95th percentile of connection durations is very short (less than 50ms) or the 5th percentile of connection durations is very long (greater than 30000ms). These patterns can indicate activities such as network scanning, denial-of-service attempts, or command and control communication.

This rule detects instances where a single remote IP address exhibits a high number of idle network events (more than 200 idle events) and a high total number of network events (more than 500 total events) within a one-minute interval. This pattern can be indicative of Command and Control (C2) communication, where an adversary establishes a connection and then waits for commands, or data exfiltration, where data is sent in bursts with idle periods in between. It highlights unusual network communication patterns that might suggest malicious activity.
This rule identifies potential network scanning or high-volume communication by detecting a large number of connections (50 or more) between a single source IP and a single destination IP within a 5-minute time window. It aggregates connection details such as total connections, sent bytes, and received bytes from the CommonSecurityLog.
