Detects unauthorized processes attempting to read or create sensitive browser credential files ('Login Data', 'Web Data', 'Cookies', 'logins.json', 'key4.db'). This activity is commonly associated with information-stealing malware (such as Lumma, StealC, Vidar, RedLine, and Amadey) that targets browser databases to extract stored secrets, often bypassing standard browser process access.
Detects instances where a process that is not a recognized web browser (chrome, msedge, firefox, brave, opera, or explorer) accesses multiple unique browser cookie files. This is a common pattern for credential harvesting malware attempting to steal browser sessions.
Detects access to sensitive browser credential and cookie files by processes that are not recognized web browsers or their designated update components. This behavior is highly indicative of credential theft activity where an adversary is attempting to extract stored credentials or session cookies from local browser storage.
Detects unauthorized access by a non-browser process to Chromium-based 'Cookies' SQLite database files, which are used by browsers like Chrome, Edge, and Brave. This behavior is a strong indicator of credential theft or session hijacking, as attackers target these files to extract session cookies and bypass MFA for cloud services.
This rule detects the suspicious archival of browser credential files (e.g., Login Data, Cookies, wallet.dat) or the transmission of data to common command-and-control (C2) services such as Telegram, Discord, or raw IP addresses using common system tools like PowerShell, curl, or certutil.
Detects unauthorized access attempts to Chromium-based browser credential storage files, specifically 'Login Data' (SQLite database) and 'Local State' (master key storage), by processes other than standard browsers or known security products. This activity is a common indicator of credential harvesting by information stealers such as LummaC2, Vidar, and RedLine.
Detects unauthorized access to common browser credential storage files (Login Data, Cookies, Web Data, Local State) by processes other than standard web browsers. This rule identifies potentially malicious activity by filtering for rare or unsigned binaries executing from common staging directories (Temp, Downloads) or accessing browser files shortly after the process launch, which is a common behavior pattern for info-stealer malware.
Detects a process reading credential store files (Login Data) from multiple Chromium-based browsers, immediately followed by an HTTP POST request to a specific exfiltration endpoint associated with the Psychedelic Stealer malware.
Detects anomalous, bulk file access activity targeting browser credential databases, cryptocurrency wallet data, and application-specific configuration stores, characteristic of the SectopRAT 'DeployBrowserKey' command.
Detects HTTP POST requests characteristic of the AgtaBackup RAT, specifically exfiltrating browser profiles or system information via the '/api/agents/' endpoint. The rule monitors for established connections targeting this specific URI structure.
Detects unauthorized processes attempting to access sensitive browser profile files, such as login credentials, cookies, and session state files. This behavior is indicative of credential harvesting or session theft by malicious software.
Detects unauthorized processes accessing sensitive credential storage files (e.g., 'Login Data', 'Cookies', 'Local State') from known Chromium-based browser profile directories. This activity is indicative of credential harvesting by infostealer malware attempting to exfiltrate browser data before performing decryption.
This rule correlates events across the end-to-end kill chain of an enterprise intrusion, specifically tracking the progression from initial endpoint-based infostealer activity (credential access), through anomalous or non-interactive sign-in activity, into privilege escalation or mailbox delegation within the cloud environment, and finally to mass data exfiltration or mail access. It detects accounts involved in at least three distinct stages of this progression within a 72-hour window.
This rule detects non-browser processes that simultaneously access a web browser's 'Local State' file and the Windows DPAPI master key storage directory. This behavior is a common precursor to credential dumping, as adversaries must decrypt browser-protected secrets (passwords and cookies) using DPAPI keys stored in the user's profile.
Detects unauthorized non-browser processes attempting to access Chrome browser master keys or bypass App-Bound Encryption by interacting with the Chrome IElevator service, DPAPI routines, or the 'Local State' configuration file. This behavior is indicative of infostealer activity aiming to decrypt browser-stored session cookies and credentials.
Detects a multi-stage activity chain indicative of infostealer malware, including reading the browser 'Local State' file (containing the master key), accessing a browser process (likely for memory dumping or token extraction), and initiating an immediate outbound network connection to an external destination.
Detects anomalous credential access behavior by identifying instances where a compromised explorer.exe process (injected with the Kothamine payload DLL MicrosoftEdgeUpdateCore.dll) accesses browser cookie stores and gaming credential files in quick succession.
Detects a multi-stage attack chain originating with a healthcare-themed phishing email (e.g., billing or patient coordination lures) that leads to a link click, followed by a subsequent suspicious user sign-in from a non-managed/non-compliant device for the same recipient. This correlates email threat data, URL click telemetry, and sign-in logs to identify potential credential harvesting.

Detects the behavior of LunexStealer targeting cryptocurrency wallets. The rule monitors for the enumeration of known crypto wallet files and browser-stored extension data, followed closely by the creation of a 'wallet.zip' archive by the same process, which is indicative of staged data collection for exfiltration.
