Detects DNS requests to Cloudflared tunnels domains. Attackers can abuse this feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.
Detects network connections to domains associated with BTunnels, a service that can be abused by attackers to establish reverse shells or persistence on a machine. The rule specifically looks for outbound connections where the destination hostname ends with '.btunnel.co.in'.
This rule detects potential data exfiltration attempts using the built-in Windows `ping.exe` utility. Specifically, it looks for `ping.exe` executions where a large payload size (greater than 1024 bytes) is specified using the -L command-line argument. This technique can be used to tunnel data over ICMP, which might bypass some network defenses.
Detects DNS requests to Cloudflared tunnels domains.

Attackers can abuse that feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.
Detects DNS query requests to Devtunnels domains. Attackers can abuse that feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.
Detects network connections to BTunnels domains initiated by a process on the system.
Attackers can abuse that feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.
Attackers can abuse that feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.
Detects an executable initiating a network connection to "ngrok" domains. Attackers were seen using this "ngrok" in order to store their second stage payloads and malware. While communication with such domains can be legitimate, often times is a sign of either data exfiltration by malicious actors or additional download.
Detects network connections to Devtunnels domains initiated by a process on a system. Attackers can abuse that feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.
Detects network connections to Visual Studio Code tunnel domains initiated by a process on a system. Attackers can abuse this feature to establish a reverse shell, persistence, or exfiltrate data from a compromised machine.

Ngrok is a legitimate tool that creates secure tunnels to localhost servers through NAT/firewalls, often used by developers.
Additionally, Ngrok tunnels have been used by Iranian APT groups, among others, to support their operations particularly for Command and Control (C2), data exfiltration, and initial access staging.

Identifies DNS queries to non-standard ports, often used for DNS tunneling or C2. **Validation**: High - DNS to non-53 ports is rarely legitimate.

Detects the execution of a Cloudflared that uses 'tunnel run' with a long token, which is indicative of a tunneling tool being used. This pattern is often associated with legitimate remote access tools or potentially malicious C2 frameworks.
Detects network connections to Visual Studio Code tunnel domains initiated by a process on a system. Attackers can abuse that feature to establish a reverse shell or persistence on a machine.

Detects network connections to Cloudflare's trycloudflare.com domain by processes commonly abused by threat actors for payload delivery or command and control (C2), indicating potential misuse of Cloudflare Tunnels.
KQL Query
Detects the misuse of TryCloudflare tunnels for malware delivery, often involving the download and execution of malicious scripts or payloads. Threat actors abuse the temporary tunnel feature to host and deliver malware.
