This rule detects a brute force attempt against a cloud management console. It triggers when a source IP address makes 10 or more HTTP POST requests to a URI containing 'signin' within a 30-second window. This pattern is indicative of an automated attempt to guess credentials for a login page.
This rule identifies "impossible travel" scenarios where a user logs in from two geographically distant locations within a short period (less than 2 hours). This can indicate a compromised account being used by an attacker, potentially leveraging VPNs or other proxy services to obscure their true location.
Detects when an Okta end-user reports activity by their account as being potentially suspicious.
This rule detects when an end-user within an Okta environment reports suspicious activity associated with their account. This event indicates that a user has actively flagged an action or login as potentially unauthorized or malicious, prompting further investigation.
The following analytic detects potential distributed password spraying attacks in an Azure AD environment. It identifies a spike in failed authentication attempts across various user-and-IP combinations from multiple source IPs and countries, using different user agents. This detection leverages Azure AD SignInLogs, focusing on error code 50126 for failed authentications. This activity is significant as it indicates an adversary's attempt to bypass security controls by distributing login attempts. If confirmed malicious, this could lead to unauthorized access, data breaches, privilege escalation, and lateral movement within the organization's infrastructure.

'Detects when there is a Service Principal login attempt from a country that has not seen a successful login in the previous 14 days.
Threat actors may attempt to authenticate with credentials from compromised accounts - monitoring attempts from anomalous locations may help identify these attempts.
Authentication attempts should be investigated to ensure the activity was legitimate and if there is other similar activity.

Looks for multiple users that had their admin role removed by a single user within a certain period.

'Detects successful signins using single factor authentication where the device, location, and ASN are abnormal.
Single factor authentications pose an opportunity to access compromised accounts, investigate these for anomalous occurrencess.

'Query for new sign-ins from stale/inactive accounts. UEBA filters based on ActivityInsights. Results for accounts created in the last 7 days are filtered out.'
This query looks for users performing file deletion activities. Spikes in file deletion observed from risky sign-in sessions are flagged here.
This applies to SharePoint and OneDrive users.

Use this query to review OAuth applications whose behaviour has changed as compared to a prior baseline period. The following query returns OAuth Applications accessing user mail via Graph that did not do so in the preceding week.

This analytic detects AWS console login events by users who have not previously logged into the AWS console. It uses AWS CloudTrail events and compares them against a baseline of known users. A new user logging into the AWS console could indicate the creation of new accounts or potential unauthorized access, which could lead to unauthorized access to AWS resources, data exfiltration, or further exploitation within the cloud environment.
The analytic identifies a single source IP failing to authenticate into Google Workspace with multiple valid users, potentially indicating a Password Spraying attack. It uses Google Workspace login failure events and calculates the standard deviation for source IPs, applying the 3-sigma rule to detect unusual failed authentication attempts. This activity is significant as it may signal an adversary attempting to gain initial access or elevate privileges. If confirmed malicious, this could lead to unauthorized access, data breaches, or further exploitation within the environment.
