Detects the modification of Azure Storage account management policies where the 'daysAfterModificationGreaterThan' condition is set to 7 days or less, specifically including a 'delete' action. This could indicate an attempt by an adversary to shorten the lifecycle of data for rapid, automated, and potentially malicious data destruction within Azure Blob Storage.
Detects instances where a specific identity or caller triggers Azure Function or Logic App workflows at a high volume (more than 50 successful invocations within a 5-minute window). This threshold may indicate automated exploitation, potential brute-force attempts on API endpoints, or a misconfigured/malfunctioning service causing excessive resource usage.
Detects modifications or deletions of Conditional Access policies in an environment. This includes disabling policies or altering key configurations like users, groups, applications, platforms, or locations, which could be indicative of an attacker attempting to bypass security controls or maintain persistent access.
Detects reads of HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SystemStartOptions, the value that stores boot parameters (e.g. NOEXECUTE=OPTIN vs SAFEBOOT:MINIMAL). Ransomware including Snatch and Qilin query this key to determine whether the host is already in Safe Mode before forcing a reboot and encrypting with AV/EDR unloaded.
Treat as a high-interest hunting lead when paired within minutes with Safe Mode staging:
bcdedit /set safeboot, reg add under SafeBoot\Minimal or SafeBoot\Network, or
shutdown /r.

Detects file creations (images), image loads, and process execution activity originating from or related to the 'SCef.WindowsAdapter' directory. This directory is often associated with specific third-party application behaviors and should be monitored for potential anomalous execution or staging of suspicious files.
Detects Hannibal Stealer-related process injection patterns involving the use of legitimate Windows binaries (sppextcomobj.exe, slui.exe) spawned by rundll32.exe, or specific child-process relationships, correlated with directory paths associated with CefSharp.BrowsersSubprocess or SCef.WindowsAdapter, which are indicative of malware staging.
Detects non-browser processes accessing sensitive browser data files (such as Login Data, Cookies, or key stores) followed by network activity to known suspicious, cryptocurrency, or potential malware-hosting domains. This behavior is indicative of credential theft and exfiltration by information-stealing malware.
Detects the creation of files with specific, non-standard extensions (e.g., .a9oc, .lpxQ, .lpXD) within the C:\ProgramData directory by scripting engines like wscript.exe, cscript.exe, or powershell.exe. This activity is associated with the Kimsuky threat group, who use these scripts as loaders to drop NUKESPED DLL payloads.
Detects the execution of JSE files by wscript.exe or cscript.exe followed by the immediate self-deletion of the file from the Downloads folder, a behavior commonly observed in Kimsuky dropper activity.
This rule detects processes that contain cryptocurrency-related keywords in their command line, specifically when initiated by common Windows executables like cmd.exe, powershell.exe, notepad.exe, or notepad++.exe. This behavior can indicate a ransomware infection attempting to display payment instructions or interact with cryptocurrency wallets.
